A news helicopter has crashed near Seattle's famous Space Needle, killing at least two people.
KOMO-TV reported that its chopper was apparently coming in for a landing on its rooftop when it went down.
At least two vehicles were struck when the helicopter crashed onto Broad Street, between the station and Seattle's Space Needle.
Emergency crews found two people dead at the scene Two people were found dead in the wreckage and a third was rushed to hospital in critical condition, according the Seattle Fire Department.
The news chopper was apparently attempting to land The department said the victim taken to hospital had extricated himself from his car before emergency crews arrived.
Witnesses described seeing a man on fire running away from the crash site.
Images taken at the scene showed flames and black smoke billowing before fire crews managed to put out the blaze.
The helicopter was used in a joint partnership between KOMO-TV and KING-TV.
