A military helicopter carrying a sick baby for treatment has crashed in thick fog in Serbia, killing all seven people on board.
The aircraft had picked up the five-day-old child in the southern region of Raska after an ambulance taking the child to hospital for treatment for life-threatening respiratory problems was blocked by a landslide, according to Serbian broadcaster B92.
Serbian state television said the Mi-17 transport helicopter also had four crew members and two medical workers on board.
The helicopter came down at around 10.30pm local time (9.30pm GMT) on Friday "in the wider area" of Belgrade airport, according to the country's defence ministry.
Sunday has been declared a day of mourning in the wake of the crash
The military said contact was lost after the helicopter apparently tried to make an emergency landing as it ran out of fuel.
Floodlights at two of Belgrade's biggest football stadiums were lit to help the pilots try to land.
Several commercial flights that tried to land at the airport had to be rerouted because of poor visibility.
The helicopter had reportedly picked the baby up from the region of Raska
Defence Minister Bratislav Gasic said the aircraft was the only helicopter in the army with advanced medevac equipment.
Mr Gasic called the pilots "the best" the army had.
The government called an emergency cabinet meeting and unanimously voted to declare Sunday a national day of mourning.
Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic has offered condolences to the families of the victims.
Egypt has unveiled its plan to build a new administrative and business capital that will house five million people and feature a theme park "four times bigger than Disneyland".
Housing minister Mustafa Kamel Madbuli said the new 70,000 acre city, east of Cairo, would take five to seven years to build at a cost of $45bn (£30bn).
Details on how it would be funded were not revealed.
"The idea to build the new city originated from our awareness that Cairo's current population (18 million) will double in the next 40 years," Mr Madbuli said at a conference showcasing the details.
The proposed city would have "large green spaces, an international airport, a theme park four times bigger than Disneyland in California, 90 square kilometres of solar farms, and an electric train" to link with Cairo, Mr Madbuli said.
Parliament, presidential palaces, government ministries and foreign embassies would move to the new metropolis.
The plan for the new city was first announced in the summer of last year, but further details were kept under wraps until now.
President Abdel Fattah al Sisi is hoping the plan will help kick-start Egypt's troubled economy.
Mr al Sisi, who has positioned himself as a bulwark against Islamic extremists, said investing in the Arab world's most populous country would help stabilise the entire region.
Egypt's stability "is a cornerstone in regional stability," he told the conference in the Red Sea resort of Sharm el Sheikh.
Arab states including Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia pledged $12bn in investment aid.
US Secretary of State John Kerry, who was at the gathering, said Washington stood beside Egypt as it seeks to recover from years of turmoil.
Mr Kerry, who earlier met Mr al Sisi and the leaders of Jordan and the Palestinian Authority, told businessmen that Washington was "eager and ready and willing" to help Egypt's economic development.
But a US diplomat travelling with him said there had been "no decision" on freeing up $650m in military aid frozen during the height of a crackdown on Mr al Sisi's Islamist opponents that left hundreds dead.
NATO can not guarantee Ukraine's security in the face of Russian aggression, but a policy of deterrence is working, the alliance's Secretary General has said.
Jens Stoltenberg also told Sky News the UK must maintain its military contributions to the organisation, which is set at 2% of GDP.
But, asked if NATO would do anything stop Vladimir Putin's forces in Ukraine, he said: "Our main responsibility is to defend and to protect all NATO allies and no NATO ally has been attacked.
"So deterrence is working because everyone sees that NATO is a very strong alliance and we are now implementing the biggest reinforcement of our collective defence since the end of the Cold War.
"Ukraine is not a member of NATO, so there is a difference between Ukraine and NATO members, because the security guarantee is for NATO allies.

A 72-year-old nun has been gang-raped by bandits at a Christian missionary school in eastern India.
Up to a dozen attackers broke in at around 1am on Saturday before tying up several of the nuns on the premises.
The senior sister was raped as she tried to stop the men stealing from the Convent of Jesus and Mary School, in Ranaghat, West Bengal.
It is understood the nun was not taken to hospital until the following morning.
The woman is said to have been critically injured and has had surgery after the attack.
Father Dominic Gomes, Vicar General of Kolkata (Calcutta) Archdiocese, told Indian news channel NDTV: "After tying three of the five sisters, they entered the principal's room and ransacked it, destroying property and taking money, a laptop and a mobile phone."
The attack took place in the Indian town of Ranaghat, West Bengal
Angry school students blocked a rail route and a major highway in protest after the incident.
West Bengal's Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said an inquiry had been launched by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
Ms Banerjee said: "We strongly condemn the incident that took place at the Ranaghat Convent. CID will be examining all aspects to this horrific crime. Swift, strongest action to be taken."
State minister for urban affairs Firhad Hakim described the attack as "heinous" and called for the death penalty to be used on anyone found responsible, the Times of India reported.
The UK is giving up to £2m in aid to help the Pacific archipelago of Vanuatu where a devastating tropical cyclone is feared to have flattened entire communities.
Cyclone Pam is thought to have caused widespread destruction across the 65 inhabited Vanuatu islands, killing at least eight people, aid officials have said.
Unconfirmed reports say dozens more people are feared dead after the storm, which is one of the strongest ever recorded.
Britain's Department for International Development said "up to £1m" will be made immediately available to UN organisations and international aid agencies already working in the region following a request from the Vanuatu government.
An additional £1m will be made available through the UK's Rapid Response Facility, which provides emergency support.

The Category Five storm struck the South Pacific archipelago with winds of up to 210mph, threatening more than 267,000 residents.
The storm blew roofs off houses, uprooted trees and downed power lines. Officials in the capital Port Vila say there is no power or running water.
Save the Children's Vanuatu Country Director Tom Skirrow added: "The scene here this morning is complete devastation.
Video:Drive Shows Extent Of Island Damage
Chloe Morrison, a World Vision emergency communications officer, said: "The damage is quite extensive in Port Vila but there are so many more vulnerable islands."
Vanuatu is about a quarter of the way from Australia to Hawaii. About 47,000 people live in the capital. Most of those left their homes for the safety of shelters.
Speaking in Japan, where he was at a conference on global risk, President of Vanuatu Baldwin Lonsdale choked up as he said: "I stand to appeal on the behalf of the government and people of Vanuatu to the global community to give a lending hand in responding this very current calamities that have struck us."

Rare images of Osama bin Laden's hideout in the Afghan mountains offer a glimpse of the terror mastermind's life before he was forced to flee.
Bin Laden is seen smiling, hiking in the mountains or posing with a rifle in the photos taken in Tora Bora.
In two pictures, the late al Qaeda leader is sitting against a backdrop of Islamic books.
US forces raided Tora Bora after the 9/11 attacks as they searched for bin Laden, hearing his voice on radio several times, but they did not capture him.
At the time it was thought bin Laden was hiding in a cave system in the mountain, filled with weapons and ammunition.

Doctors have performed the world's first successful penis transplant.
The nine-hour operation by surgeons in Cape Town offers hope to high numbers of South African men who lose their penises due to complications with traditional circumcision.
Experts thought the unnamed 21-year-old patient - who had to have his penis amputated three years ago after circumcision - would take two years to regain all function.
However, it has taken just four months for this to occur - resulting in December's operation being declared a success.
The surgery was five years in the planning at Stellenbosch University and Tygerberg Hospital.
It was led by Professor Andre van der Merwe, who said: "We are very surprised by his rapid recovery.
"It's a massive breakthrough. We've proved that it can be done - we can give someone an organ that is just as good as the one that he had.
"There is a greater need in South Africa for this type of procedure than elsewhere in the world, as many young men lose their penises every year due to complications from traditional circumcision."
The surgery has been attempted once before - but this is the first example of a successful long-term result.
Experts estimate as many as 250 penis amputations take place every year across South Africa.
"This is a very serious situation," said Prof van der Merwe. "For a young man of 18 or 19 years, the loss of his penis can be deeply traumatic.
"He doesn't necessarily have the psychological capability to process this. There are even reports of suicide among these young men.
"The heroes in all of this for me are the donor, and his family. They saved the lives of many people because they donated the heart, lungs, kidneys, liver, skin, corneas, and then the penis."
The transplant followed the path laid by the first facial transplant.
"We used the same type of microscopic surgery to connect small blood vessels and nerves, and the psychological evaluation of patients was also similar," said Prof van der Merwe.
The procedure could eventually be extended to men who have lost their penises from penile cancer or as a last-resort treatment for severe erectile dysfunction.
A "once-in-a-lifetime" storm is bearing down on the South Pacific islands of Vanuatu - threatening more than 260,000 people in its path.
The Category Five storm Cyclone Pam, which has maximum winds of 143mph, is expected to graze the country late on Friday (local time).
Authorities have issued red alerts across the country's 83 tiny islands, with residents warned to take shelter ahead of potential flooding and landslides.
David Gibson, acting director at the Vanuatu Meteorological Services, said: "As far as I can remember, this is the first Category Five cyclone to come very close to Vanuatu.
"This is obviously a once-in-a-lifetime experience for most of us.
Video:Cyclone Pam Hits South Pacific
"We are expecting storm-force winds, including hurricane-force winds, particularly to the central and southern islands."
The Vanuatu Meteorological Services warned of "very destructive winds and very rough to phenomenal seas with heavy swells".
Forecasters predict winds will reach 115mph on the islands.
Many Vanuatuans live in accommodation ill-equipped for such a barrage.
UNICEF's Alice Clements, in Vanuatu, said: "Everybody is concerned about shelter, ensuring that the shelters are going to be strong enough for them."

Islamic State fighters are surrounded and preparing to make a last stand in Tikrit, the Iraqi home town of Saddam Hussein.
"We don't want to be rushed because we want to avoid casualties," police Staff Major General Bahaa al-Azzawi told the AFP news agency in Albu Ajil, a village across the Tigris River from Tikrit.
He added: "Tikrit is sealed off from all sides." All towns and villages on the river's eastern bank have been under the control of anti-IS forces since Thursday.
Black and white IS flags on walls have been painted over with slogans cursing the jihadist group or praising Shia militia groups.
Tikrit is on the west bank of the Tigris and until floating bridges are put across the river by army engineers, the nearest bridge is in Samarra, nearly 30 miles to the south.
Video:2 Mar: Iraqi Forces' Tikrit Assault
IS took Tikrit as part of an invasion from Syria last June. Recapturing Tikrit would be the Iraqi government's biggest success against them so far.
Casualty numbers are not available, but AFP reported dozens of bodies being driven south to Najaf. IS is using suicide car bombs, snipers and booby traps against the advancing forces.
Tikrit is the birthplace of Iraq's former dictator Saddam Hussein, and is a predominantly Sunni Muslim town.
Remnants of his Baath party are said to have cooperated with the IS fighters against the Shia dominated government in Baghdad.
The fighting has raised fears of sectarian killings because most of the Iraqi forces are Shia. Militia groups backed by Shia Iran are also helping the Iraqi army.
Apple chief executive Tim Cook offered his liver to the late Steve Jobs as he was dying, a new book claims.
Mr Cook was reportedly so upset after one visit to the ailing Apple co-founder's home that he offered to transfer a portion of his liver to Mr Jobs.
He had battled pancreatic cancer since 2004 and by 2009 needed a liver transplant.
Because the liver is a regenerative organ, there was a possibility that Mr Cook's idea could have worked. Mr Cook also found that they shared the same blood type.
Tim Cook reportedly offered Steve Jobs part of his liver
But it was not to be - Mr Jobs refused outright to even consider the proposal.
"He cut me off at the legs," said Mr Cook, "almost before the words were out of my mouth. ''No', he said, 'I'll never let you do that. I'll never do that.'"
The comments were reported in a new book chronicling Mr Jobs' life, called Becoming Steve Jobs by Rick Tetzeli.
Mr Cook continued: "Somebody that's selfish doesn't reply like that.
"I mean, here's a guy, he's dying, he's very close to death because of his liver issue, and here's someone healthy offering a way out.
"I said 'Steve, I'm perfectly healthy, I've been checked out. Here's the medical report. I can do this and I'm not putting myself at risk, I'll be fine.'
"And he doesn't think about it. It was not 'are you sure you want to do this?'
"It was 'no, I'm not doing that!' He kind of popped up in bed and said that. And this was during a time when things were just terrible.
"Steve only yelled at me four or five times during the 13 years I knew him, and this was one of them."
Mr Jobs - who was opposed to surgery - went on to have a liver transplant in March 2009.
He resigned as Apple chief executive in August 2011 and died in October at the age of 56.

Turkey says it has detained a "foreign spy" for helping three British schoolgirls who travelled to Syria to join Islamic State.
The Turkish foreign minister said an intelligence agent working for one of the states in the US-led coalition had helped London teenagers Kadiza Sultana, 16, Shamima Begum, 15, and Amira Abase, 15, get to Syria.
In an interview published on the official Anatolia news agency, Mevlut Cavusoglu said: "Do you know who helped those girls? He was captured.
"He was someone working for the intelligence (service) of a country in the coalition."
Mr Cavusoglu said the agent in question was not American nor from an EU state but did not elaborate.
Video:'No Sign Of Radicalisation'
The three schoolgirls flew from Gatwick to Istanbul on 17 February and are feared to have continued to Syria to become so-called "jihadi brides".
The girls, who all attended Bethnal Green Academy in East London, are believed to be staying in a house in the IS militants' stronghold, Raqqa.
The teenagers are thought to have stolen family jewellery to fund their trip, Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner Mark Rowley told MPs earlier this week.
Video:Girls' Journey From London To Syria
They paid more than £1,000 in cash to a travel agent for their flights to Turkey, the Home Affairs Select Committee heard.
It also emerged the trio were among seven schoolgirls who were handed letters by the police about another 15-year-old from Bethnal Green Academy who ran away to Syria in December.
Relatives of the girls have demanded an apology from the Met for failing to send the crucial letter directly to their parents.

Abase Hussein, Amira's father, said if he had seen the police letter he would have talked his daughter out of leaving and taken away her passport.
Met Commissioner Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe apologised for failing to communicate more directly with the families - but insisted there was nothing more the force could have done to stop the girls leaving the UK.
CCTV footage emerged last week which appeared to show the girls at a bus station in Istanbul.

A Melbourne teenager who went to Iraq to join Islamic State has reportedly been killed carrying out a suicide bombing.
An image from video apparently released by the group, which controls large areas of Iraq and Syria, showed a white four-wheel-drive with an inset image of a young man who looks like Jake Bilardi sitting behind the wheel.
Another image posted on Twitter showed the 18-year-old sat beneath an IS flag with a caption that suggested the Australian had been involved in a "martyrdom" operation.
Militants carried out 13 suicide car bombings on security personnel positions in Ramadi, the provincial capital of Anbar province on Wednesday.
Bilardi travelled to Iraq to join Islamic State in 2014
Two soldiers were killed and eight others wounded in the near-simultaneous attacks, Sabah Karhout, head of Anbar's provincial council, said.
In a statement posted online, IS said the suicide blast had been carried out by foreign fighters from Australia, Belgium, Syria and Uzbekistan.

Australian authorities have been unable to confirm that Bilardi has died in Iraq.
Prime Minister Tony Abbott said the reports were "absolutely horrific".
"It shows the lure, the lure of this death cult to impressionable youngsters and it's very, very important that we do everything we can to try to safeguard our young people against the lure of this shocking, alien and extreme ideology," he said.
The teenager, described as a shy but gifted maths student, converted to Islam after the death of his mother while he was at high school.
He travelled to the Middle East last year and after two months reportedly contacted his family to tell them he was training to become a suicide bomber.
However, he later told them he had changed his mind and was travelling to Syria to fight there.
Bilardi's passport was cancelled in October on the advice of security agencies, Australian foreign minister Julie Bishop said.
Police said they first learned about Bilardi when he was reported missing in late 2014.

While searching his home in Melbourne, officers found chemicals that could be used to make an explosive device.
No actual devices were found, police said.
Meanwhile, details of a blog reportedly written by the teenager have emerged.
In a long post entitled From Melbourne to Ramadi: My Journey, Abu Abdullah al Australi, understood to be Bilardi's pseudonym, writes about his research into Islam and his upbringing.
"My life in Melbourne's working-class suburbs was, despite having its ups and downs just like everyone else, very comfortable. I found myself excelling in my studies, just as my siblings had, and had dreamed of becoming a political journalist," the blog reads.
"I always dreamed that one day I would travel to countries such as Iraq, Libya and Afghanistan to cover the situations in these lands."
The images of Bilardi and the other suspected suicide bombers were released the day after video emerged that appeared to show a young boy shooting dead a man IS claimed was an Israeli spy.
The parents of the Israeli Arab victim told Sky News they believed he had been killed because he had tried to run away from the group.
French officials said the boy and the man with him were French citizens who could be related to Mohammed Merah, who killed seven people in attacks on a Jewish school and paratroopers in 2012.

Police have arrested a 15-year-old boy on suspicion of attempting to kidnap a toddler in an incident caught on camera.
The teenager, who lives in the small farming town of Sprague in eastern Washington state, was arrested on Wednesday.
Dramatic surveillance video footage showed a male running down a sidewalk with 22-month-old Owen Wright in his arms in Sprague last Sunday.
The child's two siblings screamed and chased him. The scene ended after two teenage boys joined the chase, and the man put the toddler down and fled.
Owen was not hurt, police confirmed.
The 15-year-old was booked into a juvenile detention facility on suspicion of second-degree kidnapping, Lincoln County Sheriff Wade Magers said.
Detectives working on the case started focusing on the arrested suspect in the past 24 hours. They collected additional evidence, DNA and carried out interviews and surveillance to identify the suspect, Sheriff Magers said.
One of Owen Wright's siblings also positively identified the suspect.
The identity of the youth was being withheld because he is a juvenile. The Lincoln County Prosecutor's Office will make the formal charging decisions.

The UN Security Council has failed to alleviate the suffering of Syrian civilians, according to a report by international aid agencies.
More than 20 groups said the UN had not implemented three resolutions passed last year that were aimed at increasing aid assistance to Syrians.

The resolutions had been "ignored or undermined by the parties to the conflict, other UN member states, and even by members of the UNSC itself", the agencies said in a report called Failing Syria.
While violence in Syria has risen, the ability to provide aid has fallen and there is not nearly enough money provided for humanitarian assistance, they said.

Most have gone to neighbouring countries including Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Egypt and Turkey - the latter has more than 1.5 million registered within its borders.
A further 7.6 million people have fled their homes but remain displaced within Syria, according to UN figures.
Since the war started, 210,060 people have been killed, including 65,146 civilians, of whom 10,664 were children, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

The St Louis County police chief says the shooting of two officers in Ferguson was an "ambush".
The two officers were shot during a protest outside the Ferguson, Missouri, police headquarters on Wednesday night.
"We're lucky by God's grace we didn't lose two officers," St Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar told reporters.
"This is really an ambush."
Attorney General Eric Holder called the shooting a "heinous assault" that threatens reforms under way in Ferguson.

"We will continue to stand unequivocally against all acts of violence against cops whenever and wherever they occur," he said in a statement.
The shooter remains at large. But Sky News' Paul Kelso in Ferguson said officers swarmed a property on Thursday morning looking for suspects.
Witnesses said two men were taken away, and SWAT teams were on the roof shining a light in the house.
The officers were taken to hospital, and were released on Thursday. They are not expected to have long-term injuries.

Fury has erupted into fighting on the streets of Ferguson, Missouri, where two police officers have been shot during a demonstration
The city's police chief Thomas Jackson quit his post following a report that exposed racism in his department and a profit-driven court system

Protesters had been calling for Jackson's removal since the fatal shooting of an unarmed black teenager by a white Ferguson police officer on August 9 last year
]]>
Following Jackson's resignation, crowds gathered outside the City of Ferguson Police Department, quickly turning violent overnight

One was shot in his face, just below his right eye, with the bullet lodging behind his ear.
The other officer was shot in his right shoulder, with the bullet exiting his body through his back, said Chief Belmar.
"We could have buried two police officers next week over this," he said.
The shots were fired in front of the police department hours after the resignation of Police Chief Thomas Jackson, the latest city official to quit in the wake of a scathing federal government report alleging bias within the police department and court system.

Before the shooting, the protest was largely peaceful, with some chanting to show they were not satisfied with the resignations of Chief Jackson and other officials over recent days.
Then shots rang out, fired from across the street from the police department, according to Chief Belmar.
A large number of officers, some in riot gear, formed a guard around the police station as panic spread among the protesters.
Ferguson, a predominantly black suburb, has been on edge since last summer, when Michael Brown, a black 18-year-old who was unarmed, was shot and killed by city police officer Darren Wilson.

When Officer Wilson, who is white, was cleared in November by a state grand jury, the decision set off further protests, looting and fires.
But this week is the first time an officer at a protest has been shot.

Breaking News: 'The End': Author Sir Terry Pratchett Dies
Seven US Marines and four soldiers are presumed dead after an Army helicopter crashed during a night training exercise off the Florida coast.
The crash occurred in foggy conditions near Eglin Air Force Base in the Florida Panhandle.
Crews had found some human remains by Wednesday morning, but still considered it a search and rescue mission, Eglin AFB spokeswoman Michelle Stewart said.
A Pentagon official speaking to the AP news agency on condition of anonymity said all 11 service members were presumed dead.

Base officials said the Marines are part of a Camp Lejeune-based special operations group and the soldiers are from a Louisiana-based National Guard unit.
Military spokesman Andy Bourland said the UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter was reported missing at around 8:30pm on Tuesday local time.
Search and rescue crews found debris from the crash at around 2am on Wednesday.
The helicopter went down during a routine training mission on a beach between Pensacola and Destin.
The beach is owned by the military and used for test missions.
Officials said the helicopter had taken off from a nearby airport in Destin and joined other aircraft in the exercise.

Video:Shot Prisoner No Spy, Say Family
By Tom Rayner, Middle East Reporter
The family of a man apparently shot dead by a child in an Islamic State (IS) video believe he was killed because he wanted to leave the group.
Mohammed Musallam, 19, an Israeli Arab, was accused of being an Israeli spy by IS fighters.
He appeared in the 13-minute footage talking about being recruited and trained by the Mossad intelligence agency and is then shown being escorted to a field and shot in the head by a young boy.
However, his family say they believe he was recruited by underground IS operatives in Jerusalem.
His mother Hind told Sky News: "There are Islamic State figures here in Jerusalem, people should be careful with their kids, they are hidden, they are taking the boys."
She said her son had called home days before he was imprisoned, claiming he wanted to leave IS.
The parents of Mohammad Musallam say he was not an Israeli spy
"He said they had promised to give him a house, marriage, and dollars. I said why would you do that to yourself?," she said.
"He said that he had been brainwashed, but that it was all lies - that they were cheating everyone."

For the last 14 years the Musallam family have lived in the predominantly Jewish neighbourhood of Neve Yaakov, a settlement in East Jerusalem.
This has prompted some accusations on Arabic social media that the family were indeed "collaborators" with Israel.
However, Mohammed's father Said Musallam angrily dismissed such assertions, insisting the family moved from the nearby Arab neighbourhood of Beit Hanina for nothing more than cheaper rent prices.
He believes his son's death was nothing more than IS's punishment for their suspicions he intended to leave the group.
"It's all Islamic State fabrication, they are just trying to protect themselves - if Mohammed had come back he would tell people what they are really like," he said.

"I hope to God there will an Arab army that come together and fight Islamic State - I'd be the first one to join the fight against [Abu Bakr] al Baghdadi."
Posted online on Tuesday night, the video cannot be independently verified, but was apparently published by the IS media wing.
The child who carries out the killing is described as one of "the cubs of the Caliphate" by a French-speaking militant who appears alongside him in the video.
In the video, Musallam repeated comments made last month in an interview published by the militants' English language magazine, Dabiq.
He said he had joined IS to report to the Israelis on weapons caches, bases and Palestinian recruits.

Israel has made no official comment on the accusations that Musallam was a spy, although an anonymous security official last month told Reuters news agency they were certain the teenager had travelled to join IS "on his own initiative".
